GPT Full Stages

Navigate your way along the full length of the Grampians Peaks Trail by completing each of the 3 stages
 

The Grampians Peaks Trail is broken into 3 very distinct stages, each providing its own unique experience. 

 

Each stage links into the next, allowing you to be guided along the full 160 km of the trail over a period of time without having to undertake the full 13 days in one hit. 

You'll stay on the trail in our supported hiker camps, enjoy fresh, healthy, delicious trail meals and learn about the landscape through which you're travelling

Full Stage. What does it mean?

  • The GPT is split into 3 distinct stages

  • Complete the full GPT over a number of visits 

  • Led by expert local guides

  • Stay on trail in supported hiker camps

  • Small groups - maximum of 12 hikers

  • Tents and other camp gear provided

"Stage One"

'Stage One' is the first and original stage of the GPT. Opened in 2015, it holds it's own as it explores some of the most iconic sites of the Grampians in a 3-day loop from Halls Gap.

This 'Stage' is being offered while the rest of the GPT is under construction.

Northern Stage

Where it all begins. Hike from Mt Zero all the way to Halls Gap. Stage one explores Mt Staypleton and Mt Gar (Mt Difficult) with spectacular trails leading you under stunning waterfalls and along exposed escarpments.

Central Stage

The longest stage of the GPT begins in Halls Gap and finishes at Yarrum Gap. It explores the popular Wonderland Range then traverses Mt Rosea and climbs the highest peak in the Grampians, Mt William.

Southern Stage

The final days of the Grampians Peaks Trail begin in Yarram Gap and traverse the final spine of the Serra Range to the very southern tip of the Grampians. The journey takes on the steep challenges of Signal Peak, Mt Abrupt and Mt Sturgeon before finishing in Dunkeld.
