Here you can find all the information you need about how we are looking after you and our staff in this complex time.

Flexible Terms

There is a lot of uncertainty in many areas at the moment. We want you to stay inspired and keep making plans so we have introduced a number of measures to enable you to book with confidence.

$0 deposit on all bookings

You can now make any booking online and pay nothing until your adventure is confirmed for departure. No payment is required to make a secure booking online and your booking will remain 100% flexible so you can reschedule if any circumstances change.

100% COVID-19 booking guarantee

When the time comes, you can make your payment in confidence knowing that if we are required to cancel any programs due to changes in government restrictions or actions in line with our COVIDSafe plan, we will endeavour to reschedule your booking to an appropriate time or, if this is not possible, provide a full refund of all monies paid. Likewise, if you cannot attend due to compliance with any COVID-19 health advice, we will attempt to reschedule or provide a full refund.

Current Restrictions

Unfortunately, under the current restrictions in Regional Victoria, we are not able to operate any of our tours or services. The latest announcements and outline of Victoria's 'road map to recovery' indicate that assuming the case number criteria is met, we will be able to safely operate our hiker services from the 28th of September and our guided multi-day programs from the 23rd of November. Of course, we are more than happy to take bookings for any scheduled departures beyond those dates with our $0 deposit policy as outlined above.

Our 'Absolute Outdoors' shop in Halls Gap has remained open throughout this time as part of our service to our local community is operating our local post office. While we have reduced hours, and you may not be able to visit us in person, you are still able to shop online! Check out our online store here.

Safe Practices

We have a range of procedures in place in order to safely operate our multi-day programs when government regulations permit us to travel. Luckily, the great outdoors is vast and open, providing the perfect setting for maintaining physical distancing.

 

Additional procedures

Other processes we have implemented are:

  • Mandatory face coverings while in transport vehicles (and all times when mandated by government regulations).

  • All guests must bring their own supply of hand sanitiser.

  • All food handling to be done by staff only - and adhering to normal strict hygiene processes.

  • While physical distancing is a requirement all guest will be provided single person tents - unless twin share is requested by family members.

  • All equipment is cleaned and sanitised between programs

Physical distancing

Participants and staff must remain 1.5m apart at all times unless immediate safety is at risk or staff are responding to an emergency incident. When travelling in vehicles, physical distancing may not be possible and guidelines are followed as provided by Comercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria.

Contact tracing and waiver

All participants are required to fill in a digital waiver prior to attending any program. We have modified those waivers to include a short COVID-19 health screening as well as to capture the required information to undertake effective contact tracing should the need occur.

Sanitation

As part of our COVIDSafe plan, all equipment is cleaned and effectively sanitised between uses.

  • All equipment is washed or wiped down with an 80% alcohol solution.

  • Where an alcohol solution would damage or degrade the equipment (eg. Rock climbing equipment or delicate fabrics), equipment is quarantined for a minimum 72 hours before it is used again.

  • All vehicle interiors including seat belts and touchpoints are wiped and cleaned with a disinfectant between uses

  • All surfaces and touchpoints in our retail store are disinfected before opening and a number of times throughout the day.

We hope this information gives you the confidence that we take this situation and the health of our guests and staff extremely seriously and that you can book with confidence.
